About Judicial Services Examination

The Judicial Services Examination is conducted by State Public Service Commissions or High Courts to recruit Civil Judges (Junior Division). It’s the gateway to subordinate judiciary and a respected legal career. The judiciary exam process includes:

When should I start preparing for the Judicial Services Examination?
The ideal time to begin is from the 4th year of a 5-year law course or early during a 3-year LLB, to allow proper coverage and revision.
What is the eligibility for Lower and Higher Judiciary?

According to the latest judgment of Supreme Court

  • Lower Judiciary: Requires an LL.B degree & 3 years of court practice, with age limits typically between 21–35 years.
  • Higher Judiciary: Requires an LL.B and at least 7 years of practice as an advocate; age limit is generally 35–45 years.
How many attempts are allowed in judiciary exams?
Most states do not limit attempts. However, some like Uttar Pradesh allow only four attempts or until the age cap is reached.
Can students access recorded classes if they miss a live session?
Yes, students enrolled in Drishti Judiciary's online courses can access recorded classes anytime during the course validity. This ensures that no class is missed, even due to unforeseen circumstances.
What subjects are covered in judiciary exams?
