Preparation Tips for Chhattisgarh Judiciary 2025

1. Prelims Strategy: Bare Acts and GK Must Dominate

Bare Act-Centric Approach

The core of Prelims remains the bare text of the statutes. Candidates should adopt a section-by-section study of BNS, BNSS, BSA, CPC, Constitution, Contract Act, and state-specific laws. Focus on:

  • Statutory language and illustrations
  • Chronological section tracking
  • Marginal notes for better recall

MCQ Practice

Daily practice of 50–75 MCQs based solely on bare acts is highly recommended. Create subject-wise question banks, marking areas of confusion for future review.

General Knowledge Preparation

Devote a minimum of 30 minutes each day to GK. Prioritise:

  • Chhattisgarh-related developments
  • Legal current affairs (appointments, judgments, legislation)
  • Static GK (rivers, dams, polity, economy)

Use CGPSC resources and yearbooks. Create micro-notes for weekly revisions.

2. Mains Strategy: Practice-Driven Structure

Judgment Writing

Candidates must begin writing short judgments in civil and criminal matters under the new procedural law. Focus areas include:

  • Framing of issues and charges
  • Application of updated provisions (e.g., timelines under BNSS)
  • Proper formatting and legal reasoning

Translation and Precis Writing

Daily bilingual drills are essential. Use newspapers, legal notifications, and previous year passages for practice. Aim for accuracy in legal terminology and syntax.

Answer Writing Logs

Develop an “Answer Logbook” where weekly model answers are rewritten and improved. This builds speed, structure, and presentation.
